Randal SSeptember 8, 2023.Wonderful stay! Would very much recommend Casa San Francisco! The room including the bed was very comfortable, had much-needed air-conditioning for the very hot time of year I was there, and a good shower. Service is exceptionally friendly, with the staff very helpful in booking trips and transportation back to Managua. Breakfast is great, as are the rather lush grounds of the hotel. The owners are also particularly friendly and interesting people, involved in fantastic social projects in Granada. Finally, the location really can't be beat, right across from the Convento San Francisco and a short walk to the centre. Highly recommended!dmancaneAugust 29, 2023.A HIDDEN GEM IN GRANDADA, THE UNDICOVERED COUNTRY Had a very comfy boutique atmosphere, and the staff promoted it well. The rooms were super cute and roomy, bathrooms large and well-appointed. hot water and an expansive shower. were cherries on the cake. Very nice restaurant downstairs with great tapas and happy hour specials. Met one of the owners, Terry who was very knowledgeable about the area and welcoming to both her property and Granada. I was originally planning on staying only 2 days and I extended it to 5, to give you an idea how much relished stay here. Already planning my next trip to Granada and plan on staying at Casa San Francisco again. Did I mention the super cute pool area and ivy-covered walls, mosaic tiles, and a cooked to order breakfast every morning; what a "Gem". Btw shout-out to Ligia and Maria for their professionalism and enthusiasm, made great first and last impressions of the property and its values.Cheryl MAugust 23, 2023.Wonderful hotel experience! I loved my stay at Casa San Francisco! The location is perfect! From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, I was treated like a valued guest and friend. The room was cozy and comfortable, the bed was great with great pillows and bedding. The shower was great with hot and cold water. Wifi worked well. All of the outdoor areas were beautiful. The included breakfast was the best I've ever had - much variety and plenty of it - and fresh brewed coffee was waiting on the table. I didn't use the pool but it looked very nice, private, and clean. This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in throughout Central America and I highly recommend.Albert AAugust 4, 2023.Casa San Francisco Granada, Nicaragua For the pricing, this hotel is a gem! Very small clean, comfy hotel with all the amenities that a larger and pricier hotel would have! Hotel staff were bilingual to help those that don't speak Spanish. The restaurant menu offers many selections for your dining pleasure and at very resonable prices. The complimentray breakfast was excellent! The queen bed suite was very spacious and well laid out. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious too! We found this hotel very much to our liking and will be making this hotel "home" when we leave our home on the coast. For those International travelers, transportation arrangements can be made through the hotel to be picked up at MGA - Managua Airport!ReneykaJuly 31, 2023.Best place to stay and feel like home Awesome!!! Clean, quiet rooms with cold air conditioning. Nice little pool for cooling off. Our room had a great balcony, as well. Excellent sit-down breakfast included with many great menu options. Very reasonably priced. Located right downtown, easy walking distance to city landmarks. Great view of the cityscape from rooftop balcony. Would absolutely come back.Jane BMay 1, 2023.Amazing!! This hotel was so wonderful! My husband and I stayed in Granada for a few nights of our honeymoon. Here at this hotel we stayed in a beautiful room with a full bathroom and a nice little balcony for only $65/night. There was also a small kitchenette in our room. The women at the front desk were extremely helpful and welcoming. They helped us to book some tours around Grenada. If you go for a visit, make sure to have them call their tour guide, Giovanni, and book a tour. He is AMAZING! He took us to see the Masaya volcano and we had so much fun on our tour that we booked him again for a tour of Los isletas the next day. (Highly recommend Giovanni's your of los isletas! It was our favorite part of our trip). Giovanni is friendly and so, so, knowledgeable about all of Granada and the history. He also took us to a cigar factory, which was super cool. He does pretty much any type of tour you might be interested in around Granada, so be sure to book a tour with him!kelviApril 29, 2023.2 thumbs up! We stayed here for two days and had a great time ! - The rooms were clean and well maintained. - The location is pretty spot on - most attractions/eateries are walkable from here. If you get a car along , they have a person watching the cars (for extra charge) . - Great breakfast options every morning . - Amazing, amazing staff- super friendly , accommodating , attentive and make all the difference to the place. - Great with recommendations for things to do, tour guides to take and advice on ball park prices too. We totally enjoyed our stay here and were well taken care of. Will most definitely recommend !Amy JMarch 2, 2023.Hospitality and Colonial Beauty in Granada Enter a magical colonial hotel where you have breakfast in the morning (included) on a patio with a lush garden and the owners of the hotel regularly visit with guest. The staff is helpful, calling to make reservations for tours, and speak English with ease. The location is walking distance to good restaurants, the central plaza, and Lake Nicaragua. A wonderful place to stay!Stephanie CraigMarch 2, 2023.Beautiful Boutique Hotel located near everything in Granada I just spent 14 days at the hotel Casa San Francisco and every days was perfect. I have been lucky enough to stay at this hotel many times and it never disappoints . The staff are exceptional and provide all that is needed for transportation to tourist sites and will call locations to confirm reservations. The breakfast is amazing and I claim the best Greek yogurt I have ever tasted. Don't miss the Sunday eggs benedict. Rooms are clean and most have a small balcony or outside porch.

The property wasn’t always the memorable and captivating spot that it is today. Formerly the residence of a prominent Granada family near the city center, the property unfortunately fell into semi-ruin. However, sisters Terry Leary and Nancy Bergman saw its potential and embarked on a journey to revitalize it into the charming boutique hotel, Hotel Casa San Francisco. While Nancy took charge of overseeing the local renovation and construction, Terry ventured overseas to curate artifacts, ensuring the hotel’s distinctive ambiance.
Nancy and Terry’s love affair with Granada began in 2002 when the sisters vacationed in the historic city. Captivated by its allure, they wasted no time and purchased the property within three days of their visit. This decision marked the beginning of a remarkable transformation.
Terry and Nancy’s experiences in the US Peace Corps – Terry in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and Nancy in Suriname, South America – instilled in them a deep commitment to community development, including tourism initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for locals.
Given their origins in the San Francisco Bay Area and the hotel’s proximity to the Convent of San Francisco, the name “Casa San Francisco” felt like a natural choice. True to its name, the hotel exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, reminiscent of a home away from home.
Throughout their lives, Terry and Nancy have embraced diverse cultures, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for guests of all backgrounds. This cultural sensitivity has made Casa San Francisco a beloved sanctuary for travelers worldwide.
With recent renovations and the expansion of the hotel’s property, the hotel now offer new rooms and improved facilities to accommodate more guests. Nancy, Terry, and their attentive staff eagerly anticipate welcoming you not only as a guest but also as an eternal friend of Hotel Casa San Francisco.
